Music meme from kinkysweetheart

In lieu of actual content because all of it would be angst, god damn it :

Of all the bands/artists in your cd/record collection, which one do you own the most albums by? I think Duran Duran and Erasure hold first equal place with eleven or twelve each.

What was the last song you listened to (voluntarily)?
'Black Velvet', Alannah Myles.

What's on your record player right now?
Adolescent Sex by Japan.

What song would you say sums you up?
There are many (see the meme of a couple of weeks ago) but mostly 'Strange Little Girl' by The Stranglers or 'Trash' by Alice Cooper, in different ways.

What's your favorite local band?
If the JuJu Babies (in whatever is their current incarnation) count as local, then them, of course.

What was the last show you attended?
I...have I really not been to see anything since Duran Duran + Goldfrapp in Manchester? Unless you count musicals, in which case Beautiful & Damned.

What was the greatest show you've ever been to?
Culture Club + Human League + ABC was excellent, as was the Duran gig earlier. Probably the latter, because I'm me. :)

What's the shittiest band you've ever seen in concert?
Either Discoordinated (whom I saw by accident) or the one-man band of the strange hermaphrodite creature who used to work at ED. That gave me the fear.

What band do you love musically but hate the members of?
Mrrr. I suspect I wouldn't actually be able to tolerate Andy Bell of Erasure's screaming bitchy queenliness for very long, unfortunately. Vince Clarke is lovely though.

What is the most musically involved you have ever been?
Well, I'm studying singing, so maybe this counts. Or at school when I was in every choir, I guess.

What show are you looking forward to?
Don Giovanni at the ENO. :) I don't have any upcoming gigs to think about, do I?

What is your favorite band shirt?
"Kill your boss, quit your job, get a life, this is not a rehearsal", obviously. :)

What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
Nick Rhodes. Has always been my answer and probably always will be.

What musician would you like to hump for a day?
It's a horrible word, but, y'know. Alice Cooper. In a heartbeat. (Although, kinkysweetheart, I am so with you about Farinelli.)

Sabbath or solo Ozzy?
Christ. Erm, Sabbath. But I can turn it off, right?

Commodores or solo Lionel Richie?
Lionel Richie.

What was the greatest decade for music?
Can I fake a decade please? I want 1978-1984, and then 1993-1997. Is that ok? :)

How many music-related videos/dvds do you own?
Oh goodness. Four DVDs, but at least fifty videos - possibly even closer to 100 now.

What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
Labyrinth, Labyrinth, Velvet Goldmine, Labyrinth, Red Dragon, Labyrinth. :)

What's the crappiest CD/record/etc you've ever bought?
An album by Jane Siberry, I think. Just not my thing, though, rather than actually bad, I suppose.

Do you prefer vinyl or CDs?
Vinyl, overwhelmingly.

All totalled, how much do you spend on music in a month?
However much I need to. :)

So I was just thinking, ugh, I'm too crazy to post another song, why would I even bother anyway, when I was suddenly reminded of a track I had on Now…

  • (no subject)

You know when everyone is going crazy about a book, or a film, or a band, and you just get sick to death of even seeing it mentioned, even by people…

  • (no subject)

Well, clearly I'm not going to manage to post a song every day, because for the last...what is it, like, six? I have kept trying and then deciding…
