Oh, god, wow, what a fantastic night that was.
It didn't start entirely successfully, with yours truly being stuck on the Victoria line in a tunnel for half an hour and having to make my way in a corset and huge skirt along all the tube carriages in order to get out of the one at the front, all the while followed by a man who was convinced he was going to have a fit, although didn't know what kind or when, and was very sure that when he did have it, he wanted us to leave him to die. Which was fine by me.
But made it to the pub at Euston eventually, to chat with random_haze and corpsie and monolithix for a while, and then on to The Ballroom, or rather, The Queue. In which we stood for a while, though not nearly as long as some people.
Once in there were people I knew and loved everywhere and I danced a lot and cried a little - there were some beautiful moments - and bounced around from person to person and generally had a wonderful time. And it was silly, and lovely, and hilarious, and glorious, and Stuff.
And they played 'Beautiful' and 'Fire Woman' and 'Last Train To Trancentral' and 'Sin' and 'Closer' and the techno 'New Year's Day' and 'Hardcore Motherfucker' and, well, and so on. They also played 'Oxyacetylene', which has been a song I've loved for ages. I love it even more now. Rah. Things are. Are. So. Good.
So it didn't half finish on a high note. And dennyd is wonderful and didn't dump me at the end of the night even though it's been exactly a year now since he was silly enough to ask me out and I spent most of the night kissing other people. ~grin~ Of which more on DeadJournal.
Roll call : dennyd, tacohell, duncanneko (good to see you again.mew), corpsie, random_haze, monolithix, purplekaz (hurray for cleavage, indeed), djm4, thekumquat, lolliepopp (great to see you out, babe! xxx), sweinhodge, faerierhona, ravenstoker, sheridanwilde, bootpunk, kitty_goth, shadow_jess, fluffymark, jussard (where did you disappear to?), sweetcyanide, and a number of people I'm probably not supposed to know as much about as I do. ~s~
