Remember that crush meme that went around a while ago? The one that I didn't do? Quite apart from all the "attracted to", "find aesthetically beautiful", "love but don't fancy" sections I could separate the people I know into, there's the Eternal Kitten Crush Dichotomy.
That's cute, actually, I like that. :)
I get two kinds of crush. The former - "crushed" - is relatively speaking more common. And basically defines as :
"See. Want. Take? Can't have. Damn. Want. Want. Want. Want. WANT. Sexiest person ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. Want."
It tends to be short-lived (though there are one or two people who are The Crush That Would Not Die) and desperate, and result in me not thinking about anything or anyone else for days. However. There are no emotions involved in this at all. It is purely on the strength of "I think you are gorgeous and would *really* like you to do illegal things to me and call me names".
'Crushed' because they are overwhelming and *very*, ah, depressing (since they're always on people I, for the time being at least, can't have) and they hurt.
And then there are fluffy crushes - "crushing". Which translates mostly as :
"Pretty. Shiny! Pretty. Oh my god they wrote to me! Bounce. Shiny! Oh my god, they wrote to me again. Wow! So pretty. Do you think they like me? ~fluff~".
Man, I am such a girl.
This kind of crush is less all-encompassing than 'crushed' but is much, much more enjoyable. Although there's a lot of squeaking around, so you might want to stay out of earshot. :)
'Crushing' because it's a teenage-esque American fluffy blonde kind of word and I always feel like that when I'm in the middle of one.
Currently suffering both. :) Haven't had a fluffy crush in ages.
Enough - really, enough - about me. What about you? How do you define "crush"?
I asked a few people at the time, but not enough.
