Series of random thoughts...

Starting with something I noticed earlier that really made me feel ill. When I was in town the other day, I bought the Big Issue off a real sweetheart of a guy. And on the back of it is an advert for...a bed manufacturer.
Gah.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor's album is *fabulous*, and I can see a lot of the songs becoming Sirius's own - see, Chiriko isn't the only one who gives songs to fandoms, I've been doing it for years - particularly "Sparkle" :
I'm only offering you love tonight...
I'm only offering you this for life...

I'm very very fond of this album. Even though I harbour unadulterated loathing for the woman herself.

I bought a book of one-liners the other day. And therefore I throw (a lot of) these out as possible .sig lines for anyone who'd like to use them :

Michael Caine can out-act any, well nearly any, telephone kiosk you care to mention. --Hugh Leonard

Boy George is all England needs - another queen who can't dress. --Joan Rivers

Prince : Bambi with testosterone. --Owen Glieberman

Tallulah Bankhead barged down the Nile last night as Cleopatra - and sank. --John Mason Brown

If Woody Allen didn't exist then somebody would have knitted him. --Lesley White

Nowadays, [he] doesn't so much act as point his suit at people. --Russell Davies

Marilyn Monroe was good at playing abstract confusion in the same way that a midget is good at being short. --Clive James

I've seen Don entertain fifty times and I've always enjoyed his joke. --Johnny Carson

Drama critics are there to show gay actors what it is like to have a wife. --Hugh Leonard

No self-respecting fish would be wrapped in a Murdoch newspaper. --Mike Royko

Every good journalist has a novel in him - which is an excellent place for it. --Russell Lyons

Rock journalism is people who can't write interviewing people who can't talk for people who can't read. --Frank Zappa (one of my favourite quotes, that.)

David Halberstam's book on the 1950s, called "The Fifties", is as inspired and clever as its title. --John Podhoretz

This book fills a much needed gap. --Moses Hadas

Although he tortures the English language, he has not yet succeeded in forcing it to reveal its meaning. --J.B.Morton

Of course there are thousands more, but I have to go look up a link for a stubborn friend, so...

G'night. ~g~

So I was just thinking, ugh, I'm too crazy to post another song, why would I even bother anyway, when I was suddenly reminded of a track I had on Now…

You know when everyone is going crazy about a book, or a film, or a band, and you just get sick to death of even seeing it mentioned, even by people…

  • (no subject)

Well, clearly I'm not going to manage to post a song every day, because for the last...what is it, like, six? I have kept trying and then deciding…
