(I've tried patience)

"Oh, wow! Origami boobs!"

That was roughly the tone of last night's party round childeric's, and very excellent it was, too. Saw lots of people I haven't seen in far too long, met a few lovely people including at least one who'd previously thought I was a bloke (what is it about me online?), had very very silly conversations involving pineapples, The Dark Side Of Graham Norton's Arse (melston was traumatised by this, to the point of whimpering "I broke my cup, that was so horrible") and dodgy fandom, listened to sushidog telling appalling jokes (and fell about in hysterics at more than one of them), and chatted with mr_flay for a little while, which was good. On the whole an absolutely marvellous evening. Thank you, childeric, thank you, zoo_music_girl, thank you everyone else.

Have just been watching Popworld, on the basis of which I say : listen out for Basement Jaxx's new single 'Oh My Gosh', it's great.

Through times of joy and suffering/The music flavours everything

A dear friend from outside LJ has been sending me .wma files of songs by Gavin Friday, ex-of the Virgin Prunes, for reasons a little too tragic to go into. But oh, my god. The man is a bloody genius. It's all right, I don't blame you for not telling me about him - you told me about the Virgin Prunes in the first place, that's good enough. But, wow. Must own everything. It's so good, in an entirely different way from everything I've been finding good for the last three years or so. I am very happy.

I love music. I mention this lately?

zoo_music_girl, do me a favour and see if you can turn up his song 'Shag Tobacco'? I think you should hear his voice.
