(I've tried patience)

Things I have learned from watching TV tonight...

* Ben from the course I was on last year is surprisingly modest. I know this because otherwise he would have e-mailed round the course list to tell us he was going to be on What The Butler Saw tonight, coaching the remaining contestants in debating skills. Bless him. He's so cute. And he was on TV!

* Malcolm McDowell is only going to stop being sexy when he's dead, and even then I suspect they'll find some way of keeping him around so he can play undead villains. I want one.

* Michael Winner can be obnoxious on any subject. I knew this already, but it's always good to have the point rammed home, I find.

* There is a fine line between art and everything else. It must be a difficult one to walk. I don't envy film directors.

* Did I mention Malcolm McDowell? Oh, I did, didn't I. Oh well. I may have learned other things, but I think I stopped paying attention whenever he was on screen tonight, which was a lot, as I was watching a Channel 5 gratuitous excuse for sex and violence documentary on film censorship.

Apparently...

...the guy who drives my mum from place to place in Paris when she needs it is also currently driving Murray Head around. I'm much more impressed than I should be. ~s~

I am going outside. I may be some time. I may also get *very wet indeed*. ~looks out of door~ Never mind. Christmas shopping must needs be done. If only I hadn't lost my Big Gay Umbrella...

~blink~

That can't, surely, be my Christmas shopping done, can it? I think it can. Goodness. I was expecting it to be much more painful than that. Picked up some cross-stitch for my nan, and wrapping paper and cards (with kittens!), and a couple of other things, and then battled with the elements and the appallingly useless map given me by DHL to retrieve my Amazon package. I feel thoroughly accomplished. ~grin~

London is wearing her rainclouds like a cloak of grey velvet. I am going out dancing tonight. Christmas shopping is done. dennyd has just sent me something that made me laugh for five minutes solid. It could all be a lot worse.

Strange.

For reasons best known to myself (though I'd imagine zellah could probably take a wild guess) I was looking back through some of the entries on 140204 earlier, and realised, looking at some of the comments, that I genuinely couldn't remember whether some of them had been left by me, or not. Did I have the courage to anonymously post that x was gorgeous, when I apparently didn't have the courage to anonymously post that y was? It's so odd not being able to remember. It seems such a very, very long time ago.

I hope someone does something similar next year, though. With the exception of a couple of idiots, it was a beautiful thing, and I love that it's still there and I can still wander through it.
