(I've tried patience)

You wish you were me

One of these days I'll stop being so affected by being in the presence of London's great and grand. (One of these days I'll stop being so affected; well, perhaps not.) Met kinkysweetheart tonight in the Princess Louise, in the company of a gathering of vampire admirers, among them ravenstoker and his lady and Loki. Annoyed goths by expressing my admiration for Stuart Townsend - really I should know better, but I couldn't resist.

kinkysweetheart is fabulous and fascinating, and together we proceeded to Leicester Square and the Zoo Bar, current alighting place of club Electrogogo, a night I've been intending to visit for some time. Also present in the queue, a jasontheknight and an excy, though I managed to be too shy to wave hello. Ah well. Glorious doorpersons were the ubiquitous glamour twins of antiutopia and the divine Jason Atomic; through the illustrious archway formed by their intersecting reputations we passed on to the downstairs area of the Zoo Bar, which is gorgeous - all twisting metal and mirrors and little lights and rococo bar stools.

Introduced to another legend, this one in the flawless shape of dickon_edwards, who is as utterly charming as his journal suggests. Spent most of the evening no doubt boring him senseless, but he remained gracious throughout. ~smile~ Largely ignored the bands, I'm afraid - I know jasontheknight will call me out on this as I'm aware he's a great champion of Faetal, and indeed they did sound as though I'd like them on CD, but they were a bit much live. Second band (Rubicks, I believe?) were more live-friendly, though the odd juxtaposition of a vocalist looking like Debbie Harry and sounding like Clare Grogan and a guitarist looking like an Inspiral Carpets roadie and sounding like a Peter Hook fan did mean it was better to either listen, or watch, but probably not both.
Wanted to give my support to darling Misty, ex of the JuJu Babies, but in the end I had to escape - just too much harsh darkwave for me. Watched gorgeous girls in tight corsets instead. The hardship. ~s~

It was a good night. Full of sound and fury signifying nothing. I would like more like that, really. Although with more space, time and inclination to dance.

    'Slow', Kylie.

Things.

1) Happy Birthday, djm4! Happy Birthday, incy! ~throws glitter, generates cake~

2) Off to Edinburgh today and not quite sure what I'll be doing and where I'll be, so probably best to phone or text if you want me - 07814 418 871, as ever.

3) Was reminded last night of a set of lyrics I've had with me for a while, and then forgot to attach them to last night's post through being tired and hopeless. You lot have *heard* of The Church, haven't you? I don't suppose any of you could tell me whether I ought to actually go and find this, or whether I'm better off just admiring the lyrics?

Edit : 4) About time too.

Anyway, that's enough randomness (-Ed.) - see many of you when I return, and some of you sooner than that. ~s~
