I can fly!

Well, I never.

I said yesterday that I'd been watching the first half of a TOTP2 which was counting down everyone's favourite Top Of The Pops performances ever - or rather, the top 20 of them. Numbers 10-1 were counted down last night and I watched them this morning.
Can't remember 10, 9 and 8 offhand, but from there -
7 - 'Kings Of The Wild Frontier', Adam And The Ants. Yay!
6 - 'My Heart Will Go On', Celine Dion. Rargh.
5 - 'Faster', Manic Street Preachers. Yay!
4 - 'Over The Rainbow', Eva Cassidy. Rargh.
3 - 'Killer Queen', Queen. Sigh.
2 - 'Like A Virgin', Madonna. Yay! But what a dreadful wig...

So you've got Madonna at number two. How do you beat Madonna? I was expecting the Stones, or more Bowie (Starman was number 17 I think) or Elton John or even *Boyzone* or...

"And at number one - you asked for it - 'Rio' by Duran Duran!"

I am so proud. Val, did you get all your friends to ring in or something? ~g~

I am so, so proud.

BOUNCE!

Definitely more apprehensive about next Monday than about exam on Saturday.
Remind me why I'm doing this?

Um...

...I swear...getting e-mail from Nick *Rhodes* would have nothing on this...I shall be smiling all day if I'm not careful...

I really must do some work.

Darling.

Further proof that I am apparently from a different planet...

From the BBC review of the Britney Spears film 'Crossroads' :

"For adults, this film raises more laughs than it should. But teenagers, who are clearly the intended audience, will enjoy it. "

I am, as far as I know, a teenager. Have been for some time, in fact.
Yet I cannot, absolutely *cannot* think of a time in my adolescence when a film like this would have appealed to me. Or, for that matter, anyone I've ever met, at any point during *their* teenage years.
I can see why the film might appeal to pre-teenagers - but on the other hand Brit, bless her, loses her virginity in the film - on-screen, apparently, though tastefully done I'm sure. So the reviewer is probably right.
What a horrible thought.

My head hurts. I think I'm going to go and lie down.

Who adores Britney as a singer, incidentally.

    Nothing right now.

Oh, this is getting ridiculous.

Does anyone honestly care? I mean, really?

Sigh.

ANYway, what I was going to say was, my mother asked me today if she and my father would like any of you guys.
I was as lost for words as when my dad asked me what the point of goth is.

Does anyone have any thoughts? I couldn't answer her...
