I made three Christmas cards today...they've come out really well, and all that remains now is to hope their intended recipients like them.
I made one for Jewel - and no, I don't mind admitting that I made hers first so that if it fucked up it didn't matter too much - but it came out fine...she's going to shoot me, though, I put Dane Bowers on it...since L5 it's been a running joke that she looks like him...anyway...it has Chino on it too, so she can't really complain.
If I had enough money, for Christmas I would buy her : tickets to see Incubus at Wembley.
I made one for May, and it's pretty damn cool...I don't think I missed any of the music people she fancies, they're all on there...and it's just...nice. ~s~
If I had enough money, for Christmas I would buy her : The Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits on DVD.
I made one for Tasha, it's beautiful...Incubus as the background, and a photo of her and May, and Alex from A Clockwork Orange on the back, and...stuff. It's really nice.
If I had enough money, for Christmas I would buy her : tickets to see Incubus at Wembley, and a pink-and-silver tiara from Butler & Wilson.
We'll see. After Christmas, we'll see.
In the meantime...each of those cards took me an hour to make, and I have at least fifteen more to do. Oy.
I love this by proxy business...~ggls~ About three weeks ago, when the first edition of our student newspaper came out, I read through it and went "Oh, my god...HOW many mistakes?" So I said to a friend of mine that I thought the paper should have a proofreader and I wanted the job, but I don't get on with the editor, so I couldn't ask her if I could do it.
A week later, in English, this friend expressed to the class an opinion that the paper needed a proofreader, and wondered aloud who they'd choose.
The whole class pointed at me. I said that that was very kind, but I don't get on with the editor, etc.
Last week, someone from the class, but entirely unconnected with my friend and I, apparently went and told said editor that she thought I should proofread for the paper.
Said editor has just asked me if I'd mind proofreading for the paper.
Q! from dd.com :
Hi Katy! A few weeks back a friend mentioned that at one point Nick had a ring similar to the one Simon wears but she wasn't really sure. I'd forgotten about the remark until a few days ago when I was watching Decade. In "Planet Earth" and "Girls On Film", Nick does indeed have on a ring similar to Simon's. I was just wondering whatever happened to the ring because it seems to have disappeared after the "Girls On Film" video. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could clear this up. al-leigh
NICK SAYS HE HAD IT AND THEN FELT ITS TIME WAS UP.! HE WAS THINKING OF MELTING IT DOWN AND TURNING IT IN TO A MINIATURE SURREALIST OBILISK (these are Nick's words!) BUT IT SEEMED SOMEWHAT IMPRACTICAL WITHOUT THE USE OF A FISH AND SILVER ACRYLICS
Not only do we have the ever-amusing possibilities involved in the confusion of Nick and Simon's rings...I needn't elaborate...but also...
....Nick knows the surrealist fish joke.
I love that man.
I spent an hour making her that Christmas card. An hour. For her and Tasha and May, I skived writing an essay and got in trouble this afternoon.
I don't understand how anybody can be that unkind.
I'll revise what I'd get her for Christmas if I could afford it - I'd get her tickets to see Incubus, and a heart.
...you're reminded of just how important you are to everyone you care about. Like, not at all.
Oh god, I love him, I love him, I love him, I love him, I love him, I love him, I love him.
God. God, I haven't hurt this much in months. God.
