My poor old faithful iPod has bitten the dust, finally. (I can't try restoring it completely until I'm home again, but I don't have much hope - it's been very flaky lately.)

Obviously this is a disaster - I can't really make it out the door without music most days - but someone's going to lend me their nano for a bit and I'll sort something out. The nice thing about it is that it means I'm prodding last.fm for half-decent New Wave today to keep me sane at work, which has resulted in me tripping over 'Coming Up Close' by Til Tuesday, which is gorgeous (and made me cry), and this, which I have heard before (the video is ridiculous, and was linked off cracked.com or something) but hadn't really registered how much I like it. Because I love New Wave, even when it's kind of rubbish.

Other, more insane things I've learned about today include the horrifying 'A to Z' by ABC, from their dark 'dwarfs and sex toys' period, and the inexcusable 'I Wanna Be A Cowboy' by Boys Don't Cry. I say 'inexcusable', I pretty much also mean 'mandatory', it's a really transcendent kind of terrible, that. I can't remember the last time I heard anything as brilliant as the chorused Ted! Oh, Ted, fighting off danger! Beautiful♥.

Speaking of 'transcendent kind of terrible', a link off one of the videos I prodded to get those reminded me of something I saw once on TOTP2 that gave me nightmares - the nauseating spectacle of this. That man should never have been allowed in front of a camera, let alone to sing that at a nation of sickened women. Ah, the 70s.

So I was just thinking, ugh, I'm too crazy to post another song, why would I even bother anyway, when I was suddenly reminded of a track I had on Now…

You know when everyone is going crazy about a book, or a film, or a band, and you just get sick to death of even seeing it mentioned, even by people…

Well, clearly I'm not going to manage to post a song every day, because for the last...what is it, like, six? I have kept trying and then deciding…
